Year of the T-Shirt Quilt

I've made a bunch of t-shirt quilts this year for sure, this one for a fundraiser supporting the Reno Ballers basketball team at the Truckee Meadows Boys and Girls Club... I couldn't say NO as my husband is the coach!!

Appropriately, a basketball quilt back.

My little guy peeking around the edge!

The quilting was done by Margie at Big Pine Quilts and she generously donated her services.  Thanks Margie! The border made from basketball shorts... it took F-O-R-E-V-E-R, all of it lined with interfacing and pieced... ugh.  But I like the finished product. :)

I have two more quilts back from the quilter, so a couple of finishes coming your way soon.

Pink Bunny Death and Giveaway Winner

Here's my latest T-shirt quilt, Pink Bunny Death... the owner is a runner/triathlete.  I really like this one, a little out of the boxish.

Quilted in minky by Margie at Big Pine Quilts, here in Reno, NV.
Oh it is soooo soft.

The giveaway winner in #1, Karen at Mrs Sew and Sew.
I will email you for shipping information.  Looking forward to a sewing filled weekend!

I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste that random number thingy, you'll just have to trust me on it.  :)

T-Shirt Quilt Finish... and a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Looking forward to a weekend of stitching nestled in around other family activities and the Final Four this afternoon.  I finished the binding on this quilt last week.  An interesting binding in that I used two contrasting colors to the borders and I sewed it on BACKWARDS before realizing what I'd done.  Too make the most of that debacle I flipped to the front and used a machine blanket stitch to finish.  The finished results are good, very baseballish and very durable.  Isn't it funny how forgiving quilting can be. :)

a beautiful day in the neighborhood as well.

Happy Sewing.

Procrastinate

Procrastinate: to put off intentionally and habitually... as defined by Websters...  I have an admission, if you did not already know, I am a pro in the art of procrastination.  I finished this top last May, and there it sat.  Finally had it quilted and finished this week :) Yay!

Baseball themed quilting

The quilter put little a little swirly pattern on the jerseys as there were buttons and other obstacles.  I really like the way she made it all work!

Thank you Margie

Plain blue back, it went to a new home yesterday!  Phew.

Log Cabin Selvage Quilt Finish!

A finish on my Log Cabin Selvage Quilt, it's on my bed...nice and bright for spring!

Here's the back, (also some black and white peace signs on the back), I was short a bit on the yardage for the back even when I bought the rest of the bolt of fabric.  I knew this was the backing for this quilt when I saw it.

The binding is... selvages, of course.

Sew the selvage on the back, then flip to the front and top stich.  I made this border about 1/2-5/8" on the front as I like a hint of the fabric showing with the selvage.  Also, the fantastic quilting by Judy Irish shines through in this close up... a shout out to Judy for her creative quilting!!  Best to you and yours this fine Sunday evening.
