I'm posting the progression of the Hexie quilt here... it's a long term project and I think will take at least another year to finish... At this point, April 23, 2012... 42 diamonds complete! You can see all Hexie posts here!
At some point in 2011, I decided to make a Hexie Quilt... and it was going to be a Grandmother's Flower Garden style quilt...
October 3, 2011... Experimenting with different patterns.
Working on the white filler between diamonds, April 2012.
April 16, 2011 sewing larger pieces together on my dining room table.
9.2013 Middle Finished!
November 21, 2013 - The "last piece" ready to be sewn onto the quilt!
November 22, 2013 - Oops, needed 9 more hexies on the border.
Finally!!

ReplyDeleteI am attempting a hexie quilt and so far have 1600 of them. I have to put them in a pattern then attach. It is quite the undertaking but its fun and keeps the creative juices going!
ReplyDeleteMine is also a diamond hexie quilt. Only mine has a dark path between the whites. I love your diamonds themselves. Mine have a yellow center. How so I post a pictures of my progress? Love, Love hexagons!!
