Last Minute

I have been furiously sewing on a t-shirt quilt to be auctioned off this evening at a fundraiser for my daughter's softball team.  It is made from t-shirts and other softball apparel that the girls wear for games and practice. I stayed up late last night to finish off the quilting and then up bright and early this morning to make the binding and sew it on, phew.  Does this sound familiar to anyone?  Here are some pictures, although hurriedly taken as it was heading out the door for this evening's festivities.

And the final product, although somewaht askew.

Hopefully, we'll earn some dinero this evening.  Also, a bit of sunshine, after 3 days of snow.  Very nice.

Happy Valentine's Day

The new camera is fantastic!  I have taken some Valentine shots of my quilts, I had not realized how many hearts that I could find.  This house quilt was one of my first liberated style quilts, it is a Freddy Moran pattern, and although I the top was finished years ago, it still remains unquilted.  Someday...

More heart inspiration, a la Mary Lou Weidman.

And some fabric.  To tell you the truth, I couldn't find the heart fabric I was looking for, however these popped up and I do think they are fabulous.  You can even see a little lint on the black fabric, I'll have to be careful with that new camera.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Does this Happen to You?

So I start a quilting blog which requires photos, photos, and more photos.  And right away my camera battery will not charge.  I order a new battery and it arrives a couple of days later, I plug it in and wait, I will have photos in a mere few hours.  Go back and get battery, load in camera, and ....  nothing.   Then I fiddle with the charger for a while and decide it must be that power cord, sooo, order a new charger.  Hurrah, a couple of days later it arrives and I immediately plug it in so I can capture the beauty of my quilts.  And.... then the next morning, nothing.  What a disaster.  This morning I bought a new camera, and a riot of lovely photos will be coming your way soon.  Have a great weekend.

On My Design Wall

This project has been on my design wall for a couple of weeks, and I cannot wait to jump in and start the applique portion.  I have also completed a background although no picture of that yet. The letters were inspired by one of my favorite bloggers Tonya Ricucci at Lazy Gal Quilting who has written a very cool book on constructing letters and letter quilts. You can visit her blog by clicking on the link above to find details on the book.

I have used letters on a couple of other projects and will get some photos of them up at some point.

I must admit I am enjoying figuring out all the gizmos and gadgets in this blogging world...   I even created a link on this post!
